How can a collection agency win more clients?
Larger creditors rarely search for a new agency. They tender, ask peers, or move share between agencies they already use. So winning clients takes three steps: be found where buyers look (tender lists, referrals, and pages search engines and AI quote), win the tender on a believable case for what you will collect on the buyer’s own accounts, since price carries a minority of the points, then grow your share by out-collecting the other agencies on the book.

How do larger creditors choose an agency?
Mostly without a search box. In US search data for August to October 2026, phrases such as "replace collection agency", "collection agency RFP" and "collection agency recovery rate" drew 0 to 10 searches a month on Google, Bing and AI assistants. Public bodies tender. Private creditors ask peers and consultants, or move share between agencies they already use. Where they do search, it is for the category: "accounts receivable management" drew about 720 Google searches a month and an estimated 551 in AI assistants (the data and method).
So winning clients is three jobs: be found, win the tender, then grow and keep the share.
What wins clients at every step?
Results a client can check. Buyers ask for them in tenders, compare them between agencies, and move share on them. Most agencies state them in general terms. The agency that can state its dollars collected per account reached, on accounts like the buyer’s, has the edge at every step. The agencies that win can say what they collect on accounts like the buyer’s, against what comparison, and why.
In our view the "why" is the part most agencies leave out, and it is where the floor comes in. Dollars collected per account placed is reach times what each right-party contact turns into. Reach is largely bought, from data and dialers open to every agency. Conversion is decided on the calls, and collectors convert at different rates on different kinds of account (why collectors convert differently).
In a live test at a North American collection agency, a telecom book of 170,000 accounts was split 50/50 at random before the first call. The half matched by BestPair collected $98.76 per account reached against $79.17 on the usual process, 24.7% more, with the same collectors. One book in one month, not a forecast for any other floor (the case study). A measured result of that kind, on an agency’s own floor, is what each of the three steps below needs.
