Which account details help predict which collector will collect an account?
The details that tell one kind of account from another: balance, age of debt, placement date, days delinquent, state and ZIP, and an age band for the consumer. Matched against call and payment records linked to each collector, they show who does best with which kind of account. Consumer names and contact details are not needed.

The minimum
Every account needs at least its balance, its age and a state. Without them, accounts cannot be told apart, and a collector’s results cannot be compared on like-for-like accounts.
What helps
- Balance band and placement date. Fresh and aged paper behave differently, and so do small and large balances.
- Days delinquent. How long the account has gone unpaid.
- State and ZIP. Where the consumer lives.
- An age band for the consumer. A band, never a date of birth.
- Call outcomes and payment history. Every call, with the collector who made it, its outcome and talk time, and every payment with its date and amount.
- Time of day. The date and time of each call, which shows when each kind of account tends to pay.
The four files
BestPair’s Floor Assessment works from four exports and your outcome codes, all keyed to your own IDs:
| File | What is in it |
|---|---|
| Call records | Agent ID, account ID, date and time, outcome and talk time, up to 24 months |
| Payments | Payment date and amount, linked to account ID, up to 24 months |
| Agent roster | Agent ID, start date, and team or site |
| Account attributes | Balance, days delinquent, placement date, age band, state and ZIP |
What is never needed
Consumer names, Social Security numbers, phone numbers, email or street addresses, and bank details. Account IDs are the agency’s own, so nobody outside the agency can tell who a consumer is. If a file arrives with anything extra, BestPair deletes it and asks for a resend.
Common follow-up questions
What if our accounts only have a phone number and a balance?
Then there is nothing to tell one consumer from another and nothing for a match to learn from. Predictive pairing needs at least balance, age of debt and state on every account.
Do you need consumer names or Social Security numbers?
No. Everything is keyed to the agency’s own account and agent IDs. Names, Social Security numbers, phone numbers, email and street addresses and bank details are never needed.

Would it be a bad idea to spend 45 minutes finding out?
If your shop does not qualify, you will hear it on the call, not after you have paid for a report.
